The requirement

In late 2011, Windsor Integrated Services Group consisted of asbestos removal company, Windsor Waste Management (WWM) and waste broker, Waste Cost Reduction Services (WCRS). Owner and Managing Director, Tony Windsor, was looking to grow the company and required marketing support to enable this.

The initial requirement was to refresh and update the WWM brand and roll this out across all communications as well as develop a new website.

The solution

I worked with WISG’s incumbent design agency to develop the new identity and a new suite of communications including a website, service specification sheets, adverts, stationery and mailings as well as building and container signage, and vehicle livery (as pictured above).

I went on to plan and deliver annual marketing programmes for WWM and WCRS to raise the profile of the brands in their chosen sectors and grow their businesses. I helped define and communicate their unique selling points, and delivered campaigns to promote particular services. Activity included writing and producing white papers and other specialist content, advertising, direct marketing, case studies, press releases and editorial as well as setting up and managing social media channels, sponsorship packages, events and surveys.

Over the five years I worked for WISG, I also helped develop the WISG identity, launch ARI Global Technology (an asbestos treatment technology) and Hazibag UK (hazardous waste services) and deliver internal communications programmes.

The outcomes

WISG has gone from strength to strength, growing year on year during my time there. I developed a strong marketing function and delivered a huge scale of targeted activity which has given WISG a strong brand identity in its chosen markets and secure marketing foundations from which to continue to grow.

In 2014, I helped recruit WISG a full time Marketing Executive who worked alongside me to deliver the ever-growing marketing programmes. In late 2016, due to the size of the business and the scale of marketing requirements to reach future growth targets, WISG recruited a full time Marketing Director making my retained consultant role redundant.
